The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Gubernatorial candidate in Kaduna State, Alhaji Isa Ashiru Kudan, the Senator representing Kaduna, Zone One, Alhaji Suleiman Hunkuyi and others have promised to liberate the people of Kaduna State from the bad policies of the present administration which they described as anti people.
Speaking during a Courtesy visit to the Eze Igbo Kaduna, Igwe Engr. Sylvanus Aneke, at his palace on Sunday, 27th January 2019, Ashiru assured the Igbo Community that if voted to power, he will create the enabling and conducive environment for business to thrive again in the State.“Igweeee, I am not here to campaign to you but to sort for your blessings, permission to meet with the larger body of Igbo Community and as well, assure you that if by the Grace of God I win, peace will return to Kaduna again. We will ensure security of life and property in the State. The days of crisis will be over because God has brought us together and there is no reason why we should not live together.
“We are coming to create a conducive environment for your business to thrive. I will carry the Igbos along if I win. We will do it together. Everybody knows that you are a major stakeholders in Nigerian economy and Kaduna state in particular, we will do the needful to see that every citizen of the state is secured,” he promised.
Earlier in his own speech, the Senator representing Kaduna North, otherwise known as Zone One, Malam Suleiman Hunkuyi said the Igbos are major stakeholders in economic life wire of Kaduna State but added that the state policies in the last four years was not conducive for business to thrive.“The interest of Kaduna state is inseparable with the interest of Kaduna Igbos. No government can afford to ignore the Igbo Community in the state and that is why, we can all make reference to the Ahmed Makarfi’s relationship with Igbos during his regime as Governor of Kaduna state.
“Politics is a game of number and you have the number, so our coming is deliberate to give the Igwe his respect as we have always done. Above all, I personally feel that I am home with Igbo Community in Kaduna. Together we can bring back the lost glory and business will boom again in our state,” he said.
During his introduction of Ashiru and his entourage, the Kaduna state PDP Chairman, Mr. Hassan Hyat who led the delegation told Eze Igbo and the Igbo Community that PDP has assembled the best candidates with human feelings this time around to rescue the people from perpetual hunger, banditry, kidnapping, demolition of houses and many other anti People’s policies.
In his response, the Eze Igbo Kaduna said the current situation in the country calls for serious concern but advised that politicians must exercise restraints during the forthcoming general elections to avoid brake down of law and order.
At the end, Eze Igbo Kaduna prayed and blessed Ashiru and other candidates and wished them success.
Meanwhile, it will be recalled that Mallam Nasir El-Rufai had in 2015, just few weeks to the general elections visited the Eze Igbo Kaduna, Igwe Sylvanus Aneke and requested for his blessings which he (Igwe) obliged and eventually, Mallam El-Rufai emerged as the Governor of Kaduna state.
Today, Ashiru has gone ahead of El-Rufai to the palace. Now is it going to be a case of Esau and Jacob as history may repeat itself this time around?
