A member of the Benue State House of Assembly representing Katsina-Ala West Constituency, Hon. Peter Ipusu, has empowered youths and party stakeholders in his constituency with business start-up equipment, while also mobilising grassroots support for Governor Hyacinth Alia’s second-term bid.
The empowerment initiative featured the distribution of income-generating items, including generator sets, rechargeable hair clippers, grinding machines, deep freezers, and a motorcycle. The motorcycle, according to organisers, is intended to enhance mobilisation and community outreach by party leaders at the grassroots level.
The items were presented at the Hon. Solomon Wombo Constituency Office in Katsina-Ala, where Hon. Ipusu urged beneficiaries to make judicious and productive use of the equipment to improve their livelihoods and achieve economic self-reliance. He reaffirmed his commitment to people-oriented representation, stressing that empowering constituents remains a core aspect of his legislative mandate.

Speaking at the event, the lawmaker also rallied support for Governor Hyacinth Alia’s second-term ambition, noting that continuity in leadership would help consolidate ongoing reforms and development initiatives across Benue State, particularly at the grassroots.
Stakeholders who witnessed the empowerment exercise commended the initiative. Dr. Tyodoo Iyue, Provost of the College of Education, Katsina-Ala, praised Hon. Ipusu for his sustained efforts to support his constituents and promote economic empowerment. In a similar vein, Dr. Joseph Jande described the lawmaker as a committed and exemplary representative who places the welfare of his people above all else.
The empowerment programme underscores Hon. Ipusu’s dedication to inclusive development, grassroots engagement, and effective representation. As beneficiaries begin to deploy the tools to build sustainable livelihoods, the initiative stands as a testament to leadership focused on impact, empowerment, and long-term community growth.
