Uba Sani Marks 55th Birthday with Statewide Humanitarian Outreach in Kaduna

By Ehis Agbon, Kaduna.

Rather than fanfare, the 55th birthday of Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, was marked with a far-reaching humanitarian outreach that brought relief to orphans and hospital patients across Kaduna and Zaria.

Through the Uba Sani Foundation, food items and medical support were distributed to vulnerable groups as part of activities commemorating the governor’s birthday. The outreach, which took place on Wednesday, December 31, covered seven orphanages and eight major public health facilities in the state.

Speaking on the initiative, Executive Director of the Foundation, Ibrahim Dan-Halilu, said the programme was deliberately designed to reflect the governor’s long-standing commitment to compassion and service to humanity. According to him, food items worth millions of naira were shared with children in orphanages, while patients in public hospitals received both material and financial support.

Items distributed included 50kg bags of rice, spaghetti, cooking oil, seasoning cubes, pomade, soap, sanitary pads, and blankets to protect children from the harmattan cold. Beneficiary orphanages included Umm Aytam Orphanage and Women Home in Unguwan Dosa, Al-Ihsan Orphanage in Nassarawa, Adonai Children and Widows Home in Kakuri, and Naphtali Orphanage in Gonin Gora, among others.

The Foundation also reached patients receiving treatment at major public hospitals such as Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital, Yusuf Dantsoho General Hospital in Tudun Wada, Gwamna Awan General Hospital in Makera-Kakuri, General Hospital Kawo, and Hajiya Gambo Sawaba General Hospital in Kofar Gayan, Zaria. During the visits, over 200 patients received cash assistance to help offset the cost of medications and laboratory tests.

Dan-Halilu explained that the initiative was intended to ensure that the less privileged could enter the new year with renewed hope and dignity. He called on well-meaning Nigerians to support vulnerable groups and adopt philanthropy as a shared social responsibility.

Beneficiaries of the outreach expressed appreciation to the Foundation and offered prayers for Governor Uba Sani’s good health, long life, and continued dedication to public service, describing the gesture as timely and deeply impactful.
