The Chairman of the Board of the Nigerian National Merit Award, NNMA, Professor Shekarau Yakubu Aku recently led top management staff of the organisation on a courtesy visit to the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC.
Prof. Aku’s team was received on behalf of the Commission by Prof. Umar Danbatta, the EVC/CEO of NCC. Aku, who assumed duty at NNMA in March 2017, said he came on a courtesy visit essentially for familiarization with the workings of the Commission and to inform the NCC of the instituted processes for the forthcoming Nigerian National Merit Award slated to hold in December 2017. Accordingly, Professor Aku solicited the support of the Commission in order to ensure the success of the event. In his response, Danbatta said he was glad to receive the delegation. He said he could visualize how overwhelming the processes involved in selecting a citizen for the National Merit Award could be, which also involves final approval by Mr. President. Prof. Danbatta thanked his guests for the visit and promised that the Management of the Commission will graciously consider the request for support to ensure the success of the event. Source: NCC |
