The 2027 political horizon in the caliphate has started gathering momentum with bracing realignment as the gale of defection , majorly from the opposition PDP thrills in favour of the ruling APC in Sokoto state.
The development came to fore on Tuesday following the roll of defection by top notch leaders of the Sokoto state Traders Association identified to be drivers of the opposition PDP who formally pitched with the mainstream opposition All Progressives Congress(APC).
However, the development further defines the raging disunity and lost of focus fast depleting the PDP membership numerical strength adding fortunes to the APC in the state under the leadership of Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko.
Described as an icing and imposing attraction to the ruling APC now preparing to mark it two years in office in the state in less than 48 hours , the defection further rattles the domain of the PDP which is fast dwindling to its knees.
The drama is more likened to a gift to the sitting governor , Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto and APC as it observes 2 years in office for remarkable leadership.
Receiving the opposition bigs wigs into its fold , Leader of APC in the state and former governor , Senator Aliyu Wamakko assured the new APC of inclusivity with equal treatment on party affairs .
As it were, Wamakko received the defecting delegation at his popular Gawon Nama Sokoto residence reflecting with passion the traders decision to join the purposeful and visionary APC hub .
” There is no justification t o jettison traders . We have convincing reasons to carry you along since you have reconciled to go with the government of the day and be rest assured that lot will be achieved with your promising support. It is a good omen “, he remarked.
Wamakko who did not hesitate to unveil good tidings to the traders, added'” the government is committed to completing the renovation of the burnt Sokoto Central market stalls”, which he described as central trading hub for the economic prosperity development of the state disclosing that a plan to roll out financial support to boost business and enhance economic growth was under way soon.
Accordingly , the Sokoto North Senatorial representative stressed that more developmental projects would in no distance time be unfolded the state among most progressive states in the country.
He commended the resilience and commitment of Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto for repositioning the state through vibrant transformation drive being visibly witnessed with impactful benefits for the people.
” Be assured that steps are being vigorously taken to boost capacity of and restore water supply to enable access to clean potable water for use by residents”, he mentioned while driving knocks on the immediate past administration of PDP in the state for destroying key water infrastructure as responsible for current water shortages in the metropolis and environs.
Speaking, Alhaji Ladan Almustapha acknowledged Wamakko’s unequalled political leadership and mentorship that had always placed the state on positive trajectory and prosperity with vision.
He commended the Senator for striving to ensure unity and inclusivity in party affairs.

We are proud to have him with us as a leader and political pathfinder”, Almustapha remarked assuring with resolve to support governor Ahmed Aliyu led government in building a more economically and politically focused Sokoto state for the benefit of its citizens.
