Residents of Kaduna state have been advised to desist from dumping refuse in drainage and water channels to prevent incidence of flash flood
This advice was given by the new Executive Secretary of Kaduna state Emergency management Agency (SEMA), Hajia Maimunatu Abubakar, in a chat with Invicta fm in her office.
Hajia Maimunatu said since resumption in office a fortnight ago she has met with Kaduna State Environmental Agency and the state ministry of environment to fashion out early preparation for the impending peak period of the rainy season which often come with flooding hazards.
The Executive Secretary used the opportunity to further warn those residing in flood prone neighbourhood to consider relocating as predictions from the national meteorological agency points to the likelihood of flooding as a result of heavy rainfall in many parts of the Nigeria including Kaduna.
Recall that some suburbs of the federal capital territory Abuja experienced some flash flood last week.
