On the Unjust Disqualification of Governor Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki by APC screening Committee

The All Progressive Congress screening committee on 12th of June 2020 disqualified Governor Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki and two others from participating in the forth coming APC primaries on the ground of irreconcilable credentials. Though this did not come to us as surprise but coming on the day Nigeria and Nigerians was supposed to be celebrating democracy day is a slap on the sensibility of our Democratic consciousness.
The Devil’s Dictionary had Adams Oshiomhole and his screening committee on mind when it defined politics as “A strife of interests masquerading as a contest of principles. The conduct of public affairs for private advantage”.
While they invoke principles they are actually fighting for personal interests.
What happened is a reminiscent of the popular June 12 annulment by a dictator in 1993, 27years after some political misfits masquerading as agent of democracy are trying to subvert the wish and aspiration of the Edo people. Comrade Oshiomhole’s disqualification of Governor Godwin Obaseki has placed Edo people’s consciousness on a high pedestal hence the battle is now between Oshiomhole versus Edo People.
As a Support group we urge all our members to remain calm and be resolute in their support for Governor Godwin Obaseki’s re-election as nobody can stop an ideal whose time has come. We are with Governor Obaseki broom or no broom, in dry season and in raining season after all we can seek to cover with a beautiful made umbrella sealed with integrity, developmental strides, institutional reforms and financial integrity.
We also want to urge Edo people to remain calm as we continue supporting Governor Godwin Obaseki and follow him everywhere he goes. That spirit is not just a force but a vector force.
