Sokoto State Government at the weekend said it will sustain its policy of high level attention to and expenditure in billions of naira on schools construction and renovation to further upgrade education standard in the state.
It also reassured of equipping schools with basic facilities to enable conducive atmosphere of learning across the state.
The words of assurances and commitment were coming from Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal during an inspection tour of an ongoing construction of additional block of classrooms and renovation of Government Day Secondary School, Tambuwal.
He said , schools all over the state were undergoing expansion and the total rehabilitation, while new ones were being constructed where necessary in order to provide a conducive atmosphere for effective teaching and learning.
According to Tambuwal , his administration will continue to accord top priority to the education sector as measure to ensure better future for children in he state as well enable them compete favourably with their contemporaries globally .
” I wish to call on all and sundry I the state to support and cooperate with the state government in its execution of policies and programmes in that direction”, while expressing satisfaction with the level and quality of the projects which have reached advanced stages of completion.
However, the construction work comprises additional blocks of classrooms, laboratories, examination hall, administrative block, library among others
