Eid Adha: Governor Aliyu Sokoto splashes 1,000 Saudi Riyals each on 3,200 state pilgrims as sallah gift

Smiles were all over the faces of 3,200 Sokoto state contingent in Saudi Arabia for pilgrimage when Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto announced a donation of 1,000 Riyals which equals N450,000 to each as sallah gift.

The governor made the announcement at the weekend when he visited the state pilgrims at Minna performing the religious rites in the holy land.

He congratulated them for the successful completion of this year’s Hajj in a statement by Abubakar Bawa, the Press Secretary to the governor while explaining that the gesture was aimed at supporting the pilgrims go socially as they were preparing to return to the country.

Accordingly, the governor expressed excitement with the conduct of the state contingent to the holy land.

” It is a thing of pride and commendation that none of our pilgrims was found violating Saudi Arabia laws through out their stay in the holy land.

” I sincerely want to thank you most profoundly for being good ambassadors of our dear state in the holy land . I am proud of you and appreciate your sense of maturity and responsibility while performing the Hajj rituals”, he stated as he reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to the welfare all in the state.

Aliyu Sokoto commended the state Admiral Hajj, Alhaji Ummarun Kwabo A.A for tirelessly committed to ensuring the success of this year’s Hajj exercise while acknowledging the efforts of all officials of the state pilgrims welfare agency and committees for their unequal dedication, Coordination and Steadfastness.

In the same vein, the governor urged the pilgrims to fervently pray for the state and nation for devine intervention against current security challenges noting that prayer was the only potent weapon hindering our development process no matter the efforts put in.

The governor took turn to also condole with the pilgrims from Gudu and Shagari local governments over the demise of Hajiya Hadiza and Bala Jangebe who passed away while performing pilgrimage and prayed for Allah’s mercy on their souls and comfort their families.

The Admiral Hajj, Ummarun Kwabo expressed appreciation and thanked the governor for his humane and generous support to the pilgrims and entire process of this year’s Hajj exercise describing his role as significant to the overall success of the 2025 religious rites operations and commended commended all committees for delay hence and commitment.
