In a bold step towards youth empowerment and economic self-reliance, Hon. Kabiru Yakubu Jarimi, Special Adviser to Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani on Local Government Affairs, has distributed millions of naira to young people in Kaduna South Local Government Area.
The initiative was unveiled during a special Sallah dinner hosted by Hon. Jarimi for over 100 energetic youths from the Team Jarimi group, a network known for championing Governor Uba Sani’s developmental agenda across the state.
A total of 21 young men and women, carefully selected from the 13 wards of Kaduna South, each received ₦500,000 to either start a new business or expand an existing one. These beneficiaries are part of a broader empowerment initiative expected to support 120,000 youths across the state.
Hon. Jarimi emphasized the importance of being intentional and committed in both the formal and informal sectors of the economy. He lauded the dedication of the Team Jarimi members, who he said have been instrumental in amplifying the success stories of Governor Uba Sani’s administration.
“This is not just about money; it’s about building a generation of self-reliant and productive citizens,” Jarimi stated, expressing gratitude to Governor Uba Sani for his mentorship and for believing in his potential despite his early political missteps.
He urged the beneficiaries to use the financial support judiciously and to remain committed ambassadors of progress, unity, and peace in the state. “His Excellency is deeply invested in youth inclusion, economic empowerment, and sustainable peace. Let’s not take this opportunity for granted,” he added.
Emotions ran high at the event when Jarimi was presented with an Appreciation Award by his 2018 Ward Coordinators, acknowledging his growth and resilience since his first political campaign as chairman of Kaduna South Local Government.
The beneficiaries, overwhelmed with gratitude, praised the Governor for the generous gesture and described him as a rare kind of leader. They pledged to grow their businesses, remain peaceful, and continue supporting the administration’s vision for a prosperous Kaduna State.
This empowerment drive is one of several community-focused interventions aimed at reducing unemployment and fostering economic growth through grassroots initiatives under Governor Uba Sani’s administration.
