The Minister of State for Works , Barrister Muhammad Bello Goronyo says President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s transformation drive under the Renewed Hope Agenda is all encompassing towards opening new business and economic horizons that reflects improvement in infrastructure development for the prosperity of the country.
” This trajectory gave rise to the idea of his 4 legacy projects aimed at unlocking the corridors of country’s economy, safe travels , enhance security and boost transportation of goods ”
He said Tinubu’s focus was basically aimed at repositioning key aspects of the economy in line with public expectations.
” Provision of roads, rail, air and water transport, social empowerment and accelerating other development components including health, education , agriculture to brace his vision for the country are paramount”, the Minister noted.
Goronyo told newsmen on Tuesday night in Sokoto while reflecting and reeling out the score card and strides made by the APC led government of Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto in the last 2 years.
According to the Minister who hails from Sokoto state said President Tinubu assumed office with a big heart of hope to fast track the Renewed Hope Agenda trajectory with commitment to fixing the country on the right pedestal for a new Nigeria that provides lofty opportunities for its citizens to explore and benefit economically .
” He needs and desires our support to realise his passionate dream for the country”, he stressed as he pointed out that Tinubu matches his words with actions that translates positive results.
The Minister said the President and governor Aliyu Sokoto believed in putting and working for citizens, country and state first for advancement.
In the same vein , while commenting on federal government roads projects , Goronyo disclosed that in the last 2 years, no fewer than 260 major roads project had been caused for execution across the nation’s six how political zones.
” These include bridges”, he mentioned while disclosing that the FG has remarkably embraced the PPP drive inorder to save cost , inspire private concerns to invest heavily for other aspects of development to attract government attention and intervention for massive development in almost all sectors of the economy.
Barrister Goronyo added” if completed and commissioned , all these major projects would broaden the scope of Nigeria’s economic, business and tourism potentials.
” It will also interest Nigerians to know that President Tinubu inherited 36,000 km roads projects( earmarked, uncompleted and abandoned) which he promised to ensure completion. For example: the 1,068 km Sokoto(Illegal)- Lagos (Badagry) road project was muted since second republic led government of late Shehu Usman Aliyu Shagari and many others”, he cited among others.
” We are optimally supporting our agency (FERMA) to also ensure roads maintenance and lot has been achieved”
On the land mark transformation successes of Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto in the last two years, the Minster noted with passion the 9-point smart agenda driven approach of the governor.
He said ” it has encouraged development , induced results oriented collaboration with FG on security with relative peace being enjoyed in the state eastern axis which suffered bandits attacks.
” I must tell you that the governor’s mission and vision is to reposition the state which has suffered deterioration , promote islamic religious affairs , discipline, , morals, empowerment and other social intervention while also paying attention to education , health , agriculture developments.
” We have to appreciate and thank God for having him as governor. We are looking forward to a successful 2 terms to comprehensively consolidate on his 9-point smart agenda trajectory” he prayed.
