El-Rufai Constitutes Committee To Investigate Drowning Of 5 Students

The Kaduna State Government has instituted a committee to investigate the recent tragedy that claimed the lives of five students of Victory Schools, Ungwan Television in Kaduna.

The Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai announced this while visiting the scene of the incident.

Malam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, who was represented by the State Deputy Governor, Architect Barnabas Bala Bantex, assured that the state government will stop all wrongs against people.

The Governor called for more safety installations to protect lives of the residents of the state.

He also consoled the families of the victims and prayed for repose of the souls of the deceased and fortitude for parents to bear the loss.

speaking on behalf of the parents of the deceased, Pastor Abiodun Arogundade said the incident was an act of God and thanked the state government for its concern.

It would be recalled that five of the Victory School students in Ungwan Television died while four were rescued in River Kaduna during an excursion two days ago.

The affected victims are Senior Secondary School, (SSS) 2 students, four males and one female namely; Priscilla Romania (female), Goodness Aromilade, Joseph Benedict, David Ukegbu and Monday Umahi, all said to be between the ages of 14 and 16.
