Environment day; NGO shares over 200 economic trees to Churches and mosques in kaduna metropolis to fight global warming

Ahead of world international environment day, Teku kaduna international farm has distributed over 200 different varieties of economic trees to holy places ,and taught children how to plant trees in their community

The aims is to sensitize the public on the importance of tree planting, and to support the fight against desertification,deforestation and global warming that is affecting world,

Alhaji Ibrahim salisu who is the founder of Teku kaduna international farm told news men shortly after the distribution of the trees in some churches and mosques across the metropolis of kaduna state.

He said, “we decided to embarked  donating economic trees to  holy places,so as  to rise planting trees campaign ,with the aims of creating  more awareness on the dangers of falling down of forest trees without planting new once”.

Adding that Planting trees in the right place around buildings and homes can cut air-conditioning costs up to 50 percent. Also pointing out that Planting trees for the environment is good as they are renewable, biodegradable and recyclable.

“The trees around us are extremely important and have always been necessary for improving the human condition – both during a tree’s life and after a tree’s harvest. It would not be stretching things if one were to say that without trees, we humans would not be able to exist on this beautiful planet”

“we are sharing these tress to 10 mosques and 10 churches in kaduna north and south,so as to help us educating their followers on the importance of planting Trees “

Ibrahim said, Taking  trees planting  campaigns  to holy places will surely  help in creating more awareness on the importance of trees in the communities, and how every one will also donate his own contribution in protecting trees around us,so as to save community from consuming dirty air

He said Both Holy Bible and Qur’an encourage trees  planting because ,this is simply because trees beautify the community and gives the people clean air,and both the holy scriptured talks a lot about planting tress

“Trees help cleanse the air by intercepting airborne particles, reducing heat, and absorbing such pollutants as carbon monoxide, sulphur dioxide, and nitrogen dioxide. Also Trees remove this air pollution by lowering air temperature – through respiration and by retaining particulates”

Indeed ,The Church of Christ evangelical and life intervension fellowship sabon Tasha kaduna south ,is one of the church that received the gift

Pastor Titus ishiyaku is one of the church leader,who  expressed satisfaction and call on Nigerians to also plant more trees around home, markets, garage ,schools ETC,in other to protect the environment

He said Trees keep in cheek the air and water pollution.

The clerics further says  Planting trees means more wood and paper products which can be easily recycled.

A newly planted whole forest, can change tones of atmospheric carbon into wood and other fibrous tissue, thus reducing global warming.

Also responding  ,the leader of Izalatul bidia waikamatul sunna  in chikun local government kaduna Mallam Abubakar Ahmed,while receiving the trees at Masallacin  ‘yan Tiffa sabon tasha kaduna south, said ,we are really grateful  for the trees and we are calling on people to stop falling down tress

Ahmed said,we must join hands to fight desertification and deforestation disturbing our society

He concluded by say that ,An average size tree creates sufficient oxygen in one year to provide oxygen for a family of four.
