EWEI Builds Capacity for Women and Girls to Combat Violence in Kasuwan Magani

We Can,” the event convened participants from surrounding communities to tackle the challenges of violence against women and girls while fostering sustainable, community-led solutions.

Mrs. Juliana Joseph, the Project Manager, highlighted the initiative’s mission to rehabilitate women and girls impacted by banditry and communal crises. She noted that the training aimed to inspire behavioral change, empowering participants to lead positive and impactful lives.

In a thought-provoking presentation, Racheal Sankey Daniel urged women to collaborate, uplift one another, and report incidents of violence to the appropriate authorities to prevent future occurrences. “Women must come together and support each other to grow,” she stressed.

Hanatu Ahuwan, Acting Executive Director of Legal Awareness for Nigerian Women, led a session focused on ending violence through advocacy. She emphasized strengthening women’s and girls’ advocacy skills to drive community-level change.

The training concluded with participants expressing their gratitude. Blessing Yussuf, Rahab John, Tina Timothy, and Martha Amos commended the organizers for equipping them with the knowledge to combat violence and pledged to form cooperatives to empower women in their respective communities. They also called for more sensitization programs to promote girl-child education and empowerment.

Featuring group activities and interactive Q&A sessions, the event ended with a shared commitment among participants to champion the fight against violence and foster safer, more inclusive communities for women and girls.
