Nigerian rapper YCee has doubled down on his criticism of the rising popularity of “brain-rot” content in the country, stating he will not apologize for using TikTok star Peller as an example.

The controversy began online when YCee labeled the viral trend of low-effort entertainment over educational content as an “olodo uprising,” sparking mixed reactions from fans and critics who argued he could have made his point without name-dropping the streamer.

Speaking in a recent interview with Cool FM Lagos, the artist defended his statements, insisting that he stands by his commentary on the country’s entertainment trajectory and owes no apologies for using Peller to buttress his point.
