Kaduna Electric has launched a mobile application for customers to report hazardous situations they come across within its franchise.
This is contained in a statement signed by the company’s Head of Corporate Communication, Abdulazeez Abdullahi, on Thursday in Kaduna.
Abdullahi said the application named KE-SAFE was developed in-house by the ICT department and had since gone live on Google Play Store for customers to download on their devices.
He said the application was user-friendly and offered customers the ability to send images of hazardous situations.
According to him, such hazardous situations include fallen poles, sagging wires, transformer explosion and other electricity-related hazards.
He noted that the objective of the KE-SAFE application is to create a platform where customers can report electricity-related incidents to the company.
“A customer who comes across such a situation is expected to upload a photo on the app, input the state, location or street name, nearest landmark, and a general description of the hazard and submit,” Abdullahi said.
While noting the importance of safety to Kaduna Electric, Abdullahi said the company was determined to reduce accidents to the barest minimum with the goal of achieving zero accidents in all areas of operations.
He called on customers to observe all safety precautions when using electric appliances and to avoid building or trading under service lines.
