The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Secretariat has officially confirmed the relegation of Castmog Ladies from the 2025/2026 NWFL Premiership season. The decision was made due to the Abeokuta-based club’s failure to meet essential licensing and registration requirements for the upcoming competition.

The announcement was made by Media Director Samuel Ahmadu on Monday, November 24, 2025. The Secretariat noted that the decision follows prior warnings issued to three Premiership clubs, including Castmog Ladies, regarding compliance deadlines which the club ultimately failed to meet.
Ms. Modupe Shabi, the NWFL Chief Operating Officer, indicated that the Secretariat has already begun making necessary adjustments to competition logistics to accommodate the revised league structure.
Shabi underscored the importance of strict adherence to these administrative requirements, stating they are vital for maintaining a credible league system and supporting the long-term growth of women’s football across Nigeria.
