Middle Belt Forum Announces Leadership Changes

The Middle Belt Forum (MBF), the prominent umbrella organization representing the people of Nigeria’s Middle Belt region, has announced significant changes to its National Working Committee (NWC). These adjustments were revealed by the Forum’s President, Dr. Pogu Bitrus, during an NWC meeting held on Tuesday.

In a statement, Dr. Bitrus confirmed the promotion of Barrister Aba Ejembi, formerly the Deputy Secretary General, to the position of National Secretary General. Additionally, Mr. Luka Binniyat, who has been serving as the Chairman of the Forum’s Kaduna State Chapter since July 2024, has been appointed as the National Public Relations Officer (PRO).

Barrister Ejembi hails from Benue State and has been an active and dedicated member of the MBF’s leadership. His elevation to the role of National Secretary General reflects the Forum’s confidence in his capabilities and leadership.

Mr. Luka Binniyat, a veteran journalist and former National Spokesman for the Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU), brings a wealth of experience to his new position as the national spokesman for the MBF. Known for his articulate communication skills and deep understanding of the region’s issues, Binniyat’s appointment is expected to enhance the Forum’s outreach and engagement efforts.

Dr. Pogu Bitrus called on members of the Middle Belt family and the general public to support the newly appointed officials. “We urge everyone to cooperate with Barrister Ejembi and Mr. Binniyat as they assume their new roles,” Dr. Bitrus stated.

The changes aim to strengthen the Forum’s leadership and ensure it continues to advocate effectively for the interests of the Middle Belt region.
