MY RESPONSE TO ENGR. CIROMA A. JOSEPH’S DECISION TO STEP DOWN

My dear people of Kaduna South Senatorial District,

I received with deep humility and a profound sense of duty the decision of my brother, Engr. Ciroma A. Joseph, FNSE, to step down for me in the race for the Kaduna South Senatorial seat.

I am equally thrilled to hear from my brother, Engr. Ciroma of his offer to obtain both the expression of interest form and nomination form for me, exemplifying brotherhood in action and I am truly grateful.

This is no ordinary gesture. It is an act of rare patriotism and political maturity, one that speaks to character, conviction, and an abiding commitment to the greater good. In choosing unity over personal ambition, Engr. Ciroma has demonstrated that the destiny of our people must always come before individual pursuit. For this, he has earned not only my respect, but the enduring gratitude of Southern Kaduna.

Engr. Ciroma is far more than a former contender. He is a valued stakeholder, a man of vision, and a tireless grassroots mobiliser whose contributions to our collective progress remain indispensable. His experience, insight, and the strength of his support base are vital assets as we move forward together. I look forward to working closely with him as partners in the shared task of building a stronger, more united front for 2027.

To his supporters across all eight Local Government Areas, I extend my hand in sincerity and respect. Your commitment, your energy, and your belief in a better Southern Kaduna are deeply valued. This moment calls for unity of purpose. Let us come together, not as separate camps, but as one people with a common aspiration. The strength of our party, the APC, lies in our cohesion, and our victory will be secured through solidarity.

I do not take this confidence lightly. It strengthens my resolve to continue to offer representation that is principled, inclusive, and firmly focused on delivering tangible results. Our voice in Abuja must be clear, united, and unwavering, and together, we will ensure that the dividends of democracy reach every community across our district.

With this renewed unity, Kaduna South Senatorial District will stand stronger and be heard louder. Together, we will work towards the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani in 2027, while securing a future of opportunity, stability, and progress for our people.

I thank you, Engr. Ciroma. I thank the good people of Southern Kaduna.

The work continues.

Barr. Sunday Marshall Katung

Senator, Kaduna South Senatorial District
