Nasarawa Governor Abdullahi Sule is bereaved after losing his first son.
Hassan Sule, aged 36 years, passed away in the late hours of Thursday.
The deceased, who married his wife in June last year, died in Lafia, the state capital.
The Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Addra, confirmed the passing.
A statement by the spokesperson on Friday noted that the death was “sudden”.
Hassan was laid to rest in Gudi, Akwanga Local Government Area this morning in line with Islamic rights.
Meanwhile, the Governor of Niger State and Chairman, North Central States Governors Forum (NCSGF), Abubakar Sani Bello has condoled with Nasarawa State governor, Abdullahi Sule over the loss of his eldest son, Hassan Abdullahi Sule.
Bello in a condolence message described the deceased as a vibrant and intelligent young man who had a promising future.
The Niger State governor said: “It is indeed painful and sorrowful to lose a son, the eldest son for that and at a very young age. It is truly a bitter pill to swallow but Allah that has allowed it to happen has a way of comforting the entire family and the good people of Nasarawa State.”
The NCSGF chairman enjoined his colleague to rely absolutely on Allah at this trying moment to get the needed comfort.
He then prayed to Allah to forgive the deceased and grant him Aljannah Firdaus as well as give the family members the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
