New year: Bafarawa tasks Nigerians on insecurity says blaming Tinubu , governors not solution

Former governor Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa has urged Nigerians to collectively focus and brace against the security challenges bedevelling the country and stop blaming the President, governors and other at the top hierarchy of governance.

” Blame game is not the solution. We need to work together for leaders to also carry out their responsibilities in collaboration with all and sundry to succeed”, as he prayed for leaders and Nigerians for a prosperous 2025.

According to him, President Tinubu or governors cannot do anything and should not be blamed but all Nigerians must collectively step up action stressing that the task is for all Nigerians and about Nigeria’s peace , unity and progress.

” We need to be guided by our conscience and see reasons why everyone must play his or her own role towards the fight against insecurity”, he insisted.

He said the current insecurity issues were local and all must work towards salvaging the country to attain its vision as a nation.

Bafarawa who spoke to reporters on Tuesday evening in Sokoto said ” both leaders and followers must see Nigeria as one and do the right thing by contributing our quota to safe the country from sitting on a time bomb.

” We all have role to play in making Nigeria safe and developed.

” Let us all unite in defence and protection of lives and property as our new year resolution. This is part of the oath of office administered on our leaders who swore to ensure”, he stressed

The former Presidential candidate noted that leaders must dispassionately display the leadership zeal that would encourage Nigerians across divides to come together and demonstrate sense of patriotism and commitment to the course of making the country safe and great for generations to come.

” We need to think and put Nigeria first by taking away politics and sentiments”, noting that hunger , poverty and lack of education are negative impacts cause by insecurity which must be addressed.

” We have the resources both human and material which we must put more efforts to secure as a nation pathing to prosperity “, he urged.

However, the former governor while commenting on the budget, said ” I wish the President will effectively ensure the implementation of the proposed budget. It is not the money but implementing the proposals in the right channel”, he said.
