IMC and ACR Extend New Year Greetings, Commit to Advancing Climate Action in 2025

Kaduna, Nigeria — January 3, 2025

The Desk of Climate Change and Environmental Matters at the Interfaith Mediation Center (IMC), in collaboration with African Climate Reporters (ACR), has extended heartfelt New Year wishes to all Nigerians, highlighting a renewed commitment to environmental protection and sustainability in 2025.

Reflecting on the progress of 2024, the IMC-ACR partnership celebrated the success of their monthly Climate Hangout sessions. These events brought together an impressive array of Nigerian scientists, climatologists, microbiologists, geologists, environmental experts, non-governmental organizations, civil society leaders, and religious groups. Together, they tackled critical environmental issues, including deforestation, desertification, and climate change.

In a New Year message signed by governing members Ibrahima Yakubu, Samson Auta, Hayatu Nuraini Ashafa, and Dr. Nurudeen Bello, the organizations praised the dedication of all participants and contributors. “Your commitment to the fight for a healthier, more sustainable planet is invaluable,” the message read.

As they look ahead to 2025, IMC and ACR reaffirmed their mission to foster collaborative efforts to combat environmental degradation and promote sustainable development. The organizations encouraged continued engagement from all stakeholders, emphasizing that collective action remains the cornerstone of achieving impactful results.

The message concluded with warm wishes for a prosperous and impactful New Year, expressing hope that 2025 will bring renewed commitment to addressing pressing environmental challenges.
