1. Security Operatives of the Joint Task Force, Operation Delta Safe, in collaboration with Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, have set ablaze an intercepted vessel carrying barrels of stolen crude oil in the Escravos area of Delta State. The vessel allegedly owned by a Nigerian registered company, was heading to Cameroon with the cargo onboard when it was apprehended at an offshore location with the captain and crew members onboard. According to the Executive Director of Operations and Technical at Tantita Security, Captain Warred Enisuoh and the Commander of the Joint Task Force, Operation Delta Safe, Rear Admiral Olusegun Ferreira, the oil cargo was illegally sourced from a well-jacketed offshore in Ondo State with no valid documentation at the time of the arrest. 2. The House of Representatives has asked the federal government to suspend the planned hike in school fees in federal government universities. The resolution was sequel to a motion moved by Aliyu Madaki on Tuesday on the floor of the House. According to Madaki, some schools have increased tuition fees by as much as 200% despite the worsening economic situation and growing level of poverty in the country. DAILY POST

3. Former UK prime minister Boris Johnson has become a father again, his wife Carrie said on Tuesday, with the couple’s third child, and the ex-leader’s eighth, born on July 5. Their first son Wilfred was born in April 2020, not long after Johnson was treated in hospital intensive care for Covid. Daughter Romy then arrived in December 2021, again when Johnson was still Britain’s prime minister. He was ousted the following summer, amid a revolt within his ruling Conservatives after a series of scandals, including Covid lockdown-breaking parties at Downing Street. The 59-year-old Johnson quit as a Tory lawmaker last month after MPs found that he had lied to parliament over his knowledge of the parties. Johnson, who has been married three times, has four children from his second marriage to the lawyer Marina Wheeler, and now has three with Carrie, 35, a former Conservative Party media adviser whom he wed two years ago. 4. There was a mild drama at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday, when a Judge of the Court, Justice James Omotosho, handed a Police lawyer, Ibrahim Mohammed, to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for filing a criminal charge against Senator Stella Adaeze Oduah. The police lawyer is to be investigated for filing the 8-count criminal charges against the former Minister of Aviation in the name of EFCC without the authority of the anti-graft agency. Although, the embattled lawyer, who left the EFCC since November last year, admitted error in filing the controversial charges with the name of the anti-graft agency, the Judge nonetheless ordered that the genuiness of his errors must be established through investigation. 5. Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has offered a scholarship to Miss Nkechinyere Umeh, who emerged best performing candidate in the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations. Soludo said the gesture followed the recent JAMB declaration of Umeh from Anambra State as the highest scorer with a cumulative mark of 360 in the examination. The governor congratulated the remarkable student for doing the state proud with her exceptional performance. This is contained in a statement issued by Mr Christian Aburime, Soludo’s Press Secretary on Tuesday. PUNCH

6. Talented actor Olu Jacobs turns 81 years old today, July 11, 2023, and his wife, Joke Silva, has taken to social media to celebrate him. In her Instagram post, the veteran actress made sure to remind her fans that today isOlu Jacobs’ official birthdate. The actress has been open about her husband’s struggle with dementia since 2021 and has been by his side every step of the way. Silva recently spoke up about how they have been coping and what it has been like loving him post-dementia, saying that “sometimes it feels like her husband ‘is no longer there’. She did, however, make note of how good a father he is to their children. Even though he has stepped out of the acting scene, Jacobs is a world-class actor and legend in the Nollywood sector. PULSE

7. Kelly Kester is on the verge of finalising a move to Nigeria Premier League side, Bendel Insurance. The defensive midfielder turned down a contract extension with Shooting Stars last month. According to report that the former Enyimba star has agreed on a one-year deal with the Benin Arsenals. Kester turned down a big-money move to Rivers United to team up with Monday Odigie’s side. 8. Franklin Police Department police said they have arrested a “popular” Tennessee soccer coach after finding videos on his cell phone depicting unconscious boys being raped. Camilo Hurtado Campos is being held in Franklin, Tennessee, on charges of rape of a child and sexual exploitation of a minor with additional charges expected to be filed, according to a Sunday news release from the Franklin Police Department. Police say they were alerted after Campos left his phone at a restaurant and employees went through the device, looking for information about the owner so they could return it. LEADERSHIP

9. BBC chief Tim Davie on Tuesday faced a media grilling after claims that a top presenter paid a teenager thousands of pounds for sexually explicit images. The accusations fuelled a fifth straight day of frontpage headlines with broadcast media, including the publicly-funded BBC, also leading its own radio and television news bulletins with the story. The allegations first emerged in an article published Friday in The Sun tabloid in which the alleged victim’s family said the presenter had paid a total of £35,000 ($45,000) for the pictures. The Sun, which leans towards the ruling Conservative party, said the exchanges between the presenter and the young person started three years ago when the teenager was 17. The damaging headlines come after the broadcaster was rocked in recent years by scandals which saw some of their biggest names revealed as serial sex offenders. CHANNELS

10. Famous Nollywood actor, Chinedu Ikedieze, popularly known as Aki has taken to social media to warn fans sliding into his direct message, (DM) to beg for money. The 45-year-old actor gave the warning in a viral video shared on his Instagram page. Expressing his anger in the video, he said people have turned his DM into a bank of industry. DAILY POST
