1. Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has congratulated Honourable Yusuf Liman and Honourable Magaji Henry on their well-deserved election as Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, respectively. It was learnt that the immediate-past Speaker, Yusuf Zailani had earlier stepped down from the race. In a statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Muhammad Shehu, on Tuesday, his principal extended his warmed felicitations to the Speaker and his Deputy while hailing the transparent and fair process that led to their emergence as leaders of the legislative arm of the government. 2. In his bid to establish his allegations of malpractices in the conduct of the February 25 presidential election, the Labour Party (LP) candidate in the last election, Peter Gregory Obi on Tuesday, tendered additional 188 exhibits against the declaration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as winner of the election. The exhibits, mainly results sheets and reports used by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) during the election, were tendered at the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) and admitted as exhibits to be used to determine the legality or otherwise of Tinubu’s return as the President. Obi, through Peter Afoba, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, tendered forms EC40GPU, EC40G1 and reports prepared by the electoral body after the election. DAILY POST
3. The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has directed that criminal summons be issued on Senator Ifeanyi Ubah and his company, Capital Oil and Gas Limited. Justice Nicholas Oweibo gave this directive in the criminal prosecution of the Senator by the Federal Government of Nigeria on an 8-count charge bordering on his alleged indebtedness to Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria, AMCON sometimes in 2019 which includes conspiracy in making false claims in relation to the actual values of certain assets transferred to AMCON under a consent judgment obtained in 2012 contrary to Section 54(1) of the AMCON Act. At the proceedings of the suit on Tuesday, the prosecutor, Mr. Tunde Lawal of the law firm of Kunle Adegoke SAN & Co informed the Court that the Defendants had been served with the amended charge and hearing notice of today’s date. He also told the Court that at the last adjourned date, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah was not in Court and hearing notice of that date was also served on him. CHANNELS
4. The Kaduna State government yesterday said the first session of the 10th Assembly of the Kaduna State House of Assembly will hold today in the Parliament Building, Lugard Hall, Kaduna. This came after the dissolution of the 9th Assembly on Thursday the 8th of June, 2023 by the Kaduna State governor, Sen. Uba Sani. In a statement issued by the governor’s chief press secretary, Muhammad Lawal Shehu, he said the historic session marks a new chapter in the legislative history of Kaduna State and demonstrates the commitment of the government to uphold democratic principles and ensure good governance. 5. Guinness World Records on Tuesday announced Hilda Baci the new record holder for the longest cooking by an individual. The GWR in a statement on its website, said, “Following a thorough review of all the evidence, Guinness World Records can now confirm that Hilda Effiong Bassey, better known as Hilda Baci, has officially broken the record for the longest cooking marathon (individual), with a time of 93 hours 11 minutes.” The 26-year-old Nigerian chef began on Thursday 11 May and continued through to Monday 15 May, cooking over 100 pots of food during her four-day kitchen stint. Hilda attempted to set a record of 100 hours, however, almost seven hours were deducted from her final total because she mistakenly took extra minutes for one of her rest breaks early on in the attempt. 6. Nigerian chef, Damilola Adeparusi has surpassed the 100-hour world cooking record attempt by Hilda Baci. The Ekiti-based chef announced the new feat via her Twitter page in the early hours of Tuesday. Baci had grabbed the headlines some weeks back when she surpassed the world cooking record of 87 hours 45 minutes previously set by Lata Tondon, an Indian chef, in 2019 Her attempt, however, is yet to be officially certified by the Guinness World Record (GWR). To accelerate the impact of its capacity development drive on talented youths in the country, the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) has partnered with National Image Educational Consult to broaden opportunities for young Nigerians. After signing the agreement, the national president of ALGON, Hon. 8. India on Tuesday denied claims it had threatened to shut down Twitter inside the country if it did not block accounts critical of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government. The world’s biggest democracy petitions Twitter for content removals more than almost any other country, and the platform regularly takes down or blocks content at the request of Indian authorities. Former chief executive Jack Dorsey said Monday that the platform he founded had come under sustained pressure from Indian officials during his tenure. Dorsey told YouTube chat show Breaking Points that authorities had threatened to “shut down Twitter in India” as well as raid the homes of its employees, unless his company yielded to their demands. Indian information technology minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar responded Tuesday that Dorsey’s claim was an “outright lie”, while also accusing Twitter of repeated violations of local laws. CHANNELS

The brand publicly accused the chef of breaching a ₦3 million contract, but she has vehemently denied the allegations and provided her side of the story. The controversy emerged on Friday, June 9, 2023, when a flier promoting an event featuring Baci started circulating on Twitter. The flier claimed that Baci would be charging ₦25,000 for a meet-and-greet event in Abuja.
