Nigeria has been crowned champions of the para volleyball event at the inaugural edition of the West Africa Zone A & B Championship, held in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Nigeria secured the title after recording a decisive 3-0 straight sets win against Ghana in the final match.
The team’s run to the championship started strong with a grueling encounter against Niger Republic in their first game, which also resulted in a 3-0 victory.
Nigeria’s experience was fully evident in the final against Ghana, claiming their second successive victory with dominant set scores:
First Set: 25-10
Second Set: 25-6
Third Set: 25-16
Speaking after the win, Kayode Ladele, President of the Paravolley Federation of Nigeria, affirmed that the win validated the board’s dedication to developing the sport nationwide.
The team’s Technical Director and Head Coach, Priscilla Agara, thanked Ladele for consistently exposing the team to international events, including the 2024 Paralympic Games qualifiers and the 2024 Paravolleyball Club Championship.
