For his extant community development initiatives, the outgone Medical Director of the Federal Psychiatric Hospital, Kware, Professor Sale Shehu was at the weekend, conferred with the title of ‘Zaruman Kware by the District Head of Kware in Sokoto state, Alhaji Muhammadu Dan’iya.

Professor Shehu who bowed out of office on Saturday after serving 2 term as the hospital’s Managing Director, got honoured with the title same day.
Speaking at the brief colourful and epochal event, Alhaji Dan’Iya, urged Professor Sale to sustain his drive community development initiatives for humanity.
According to the traditional ruler who is father to the immediate past deputy governor of the state, Muhammad Mannir Dan Iya said the conferment of the title on Professor Sale recognition of his meritorious contributions and development to the Kware community and humanity.
He noted that the outgone hospital MD, a Consultant Psychiatrist and Master Trainer, had facilitated and remarkably transformed the hospital through initiatives, infrastructural developments for enhanced service delivery.
” We are loving witnesses of his strides during his tenure. He recruited many Kware indigenes, supplied potable water to the community and supported all forms of community engagements”, Dan Iya acknowledged as he pointed out that
” Development unites people together and fosters peace,” as he urged the newly appointed title holder to sustain the spirit of sincerity in his future endeavours.
He explained that the title of ” Zaruman Kaware ” was the first to be installed in the Chiefdom in appreciation of Sale’s devotion to the hospital and Kware community development.
“Professor Sale provided service, educational development to the youths and the overall healthcare delivery across the country.
Responding, Sale expressed gratitude to the traditional ruler for the invaluable honour and pledged to leverage his experience to driving meaningful contributions to the area.
While assuring the traditional ruler of his continued support to the community and beyond , Professor Sale noted that traditional rulers were the custodians of the people at the grassroots level disclosing that Kware was now his second home.
” History will always recognise me as a person who lived and made contributions during my stewardship as the Medical Director of FNPH, Kware.”
Also, a former Deputy Governor of Zamfara, Sen. Hassan Nasiha who was among dignitaries at the event , thanked and appreciated the District Head for the distinct recognition saying that it would surely spur Prof. Sale for more service to humanity.
The event was witnessed by Vice Chairman of Kware Local Government Area, Alhaji, Muhammad Umar, Wazirin Sokoto, Prof. Sambo Wali-Junaid, government officials, friends, family members and other distinguished personalities from different parts of Nigeria.

Meanwhile, the Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr Iziaq Salako, had earlier inaugurated numerous infrastructural projects initiated and executed in the hospital during the tenure of Professor Sale.
They Molecular Laboratory, Intensive Care Unit, Regional Women and Children Drug Dependency Treatment Centre as well as an Accident and Emergency Centre were among critical functional projects put in place by Professor Sale .
Others include : Multipurpose Students’ hostel, School of Post Basic Nursing (Psychiatry), Information, and Communication Technology (ICT) Centre, Hall and alternative power supply, among others.
The minister highlighted that the projects, without any doubt, would positively result in better outcomes for the patients who routinely throng the hospital.
