AS more sympathises arrive Sokoto to condole Senator Aliyu Wamakko on the demise of his daughter, Senate President Ahmed Lawan on Monday led a high powered delegation to Sokoto to condole the lawmaker and former Sokoto state governor.
Sadiya Aliyu Wamakko, 23, died last Thursday following birth complications was interred same day in Sokoto and the three day Fiddau prayer session was conducted on Sunday.
On the entourage of the number three citizen were the Senate Leader, Senator Abdullahi Yahaya, Senator Bala Ibn Na’Allah, Kebbi State Governor Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, the acting National Chairman of APC and Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Bunu, former House of Representatives Member, representing Kware and Wamakko Federal Constituency, in Sokoto State, Usman Balkore and a Gombe-based business Mogul, Alhaji Awwal Lawal, Sarkin Sudan of Gombe.
Condoling Wamakko on Sadiua’s death, Lawan prayed the Almighty Allah to grant her Aljannat Firdaus.
Accordingly, he described Wamakko as a leader not only in Sokoto State or the North alone, but to the entire country, especially the All Progressives Congress ( APC).
” Senator Wamakko is a trusted and reliable leader of the APC. He is a core Nationalist and a Patriot.
” Wamakko is an astute leader who who always lead by example . He has been a very tested and trusted colleague, who is also a close confidant”, Lawan pointed out.
He said whatever affects Wamakko, affects all of them, noting that Senator Wamakko provided credible, exemplary and impeccable leadership to both the 8th and 9th assembly Senate while acknowledging his contributions , Lawan added” the Nigeria of today, needs people like him who are trustworthy, honest , humane , kind and patriotic. We will always stand by him in everything he does , as we are one and the same .”
He stressed ” We are here to condole him on behalf of the entire Senate . Her demise was indeed a great loss to all of us .”
He prayed for divine solutions to the present challenges plaguing Nigeria , adding that, prayer is a potent weapon for all problems.
Lawan further appealed to Nigerians never to despair in offering prayers for the nation’s leaders, noting that leaders as mere mortals, must make mistakes, but that, they will be properly guided and spiritually supported with the fervent prayers of the citizens.
Commenting on life journey, he said ” every soul must taste death and all of us must exit this world at one time or the other .”
While responding, Senator Wamakko commended the Senate President and the members of his delegation for the invaluable visit and prayed for sustainable peace, unity and socioeconomic prosperity of Nigeria.
Wamakko added: ” We are lucky to have a visionary leader, worthy of emulation by all of us like Senator Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan. All the members of the Senate are equally and equitably being carried along.”
Special prayer sessions for the repose of the soul of the deceased, as well as for sustenable peace and unity of Nigeria were led by Sheikh Abdulaziz Kofar Rini and Sheikh Yahuza Shehu Tambuwal.
