In a media interaction held in his office, Distinguished Senator Kawu expressed his elation over the presidential assent of Federal Polytechnic Rano. The meeting was convened to recognize the collective efforts that led to the establishment of the institution, which marks the first Federal Government institution in the zone. The bill, sponsored by former Hon. Kabir Alhassan of Rano – Kibuya Federal Constituency in Kano State, has now received presidential approval, setting a significant milestone for the region’s educational development.

Senator Kawu conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his support, emphasizing that the establishment of Federal Polytechnic Rano fills a longstanding void in the zone—where other regions already benefit from institutions like Bayaro University Kano and a Federal College of Education. He also lauded key federal figures, including Senate President Godswill Obot Akpabio, the Deputy Senate President, Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, and the Deputy Speaker, for their contributions in making this achievement possible.
Additionally, the Senator extended commendations to all stakeholders involved in the process. He specifically credited the former Hon. Kabir Alhassan for sponsoring the bill and acknowledged his State Governor, Engr. Abbas Kabiru, for playing a pivotal role in this success. Not forgetting his colleagues in both the Senate and the House of Representatives, Senator Kawu underscored that this collective effort has paved the way for a brighter educational future in the region.
