The eye treatment programme which commenced last Tuesday had targeted 1,000 patients with various eye problems for treatment from the Northern Senatorial Zone which Wamakko represents in the National Assembly.
A statement issued in Sokoto by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Bashir Rabe Mani said the programme was flagged in Balle, headquarters of Gudu Local Government of Sokoto state on August 1 and had so far been successfully conducted in six local governments under the zone which include: Gudu,Tangaza, Binji, Wamakko, Silame and Kware respectively.
According to the statement, the exercise was being conducted in Sokoto South local government today, while it will be rounded off tomorrow at the Palace of Chiroman Sokoto, in Sokoto North local government.
However, the free treatment covered areas as refractive errors, with eye glasses, infections like conjunctivitis, as well as uveitis.
Commenting on the exercise, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko said that it was aimed at further alleviating the suffering of his constituents.
