At last, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Sokoto state has cleared the air on the authenticity of its leadership in the state after issuing a disclaimer, stopping Alhaji Bello Isiyaku (Keegan) from allegedly parading himself as its chairman, following the affirmation of Hon. Umar Muhammad Faruk as the legitimate and duly recognised party chairman.

Similarly, the party strongly cautioned that Alhaji Bello Isiyaku should desist immediately from appearing on media platforms and using the name of the ADC in Sokoto State to insult, abuse, or defame individuals. His actions do not represent the party and are driven solely by personal interests.
It equally warned those providing him with media space or encouragement
to stop enabling him to use the party’s identity to disrespect or malign people
in Sokoto State noting that such conduct contradicted the values and constitution of the ADC.
However, the party stressed that Faruk remains the recognised state party chairman by the headquarters.
A statement signed and issued to press on Monday in Sokoto by the ADC leadership under Hon. Umar Muhammad Faruk said the disclaimer against Alhaji Bello Isiyaku(Keegan) was declared to address ongoing misrepresentations on the party’s chairmanship in the state.
Accordingly , Faruk explained that ” Isiyaku’s suspension, paved the way for my appointment as the legitimate ADC Chairman in Sokoto State, a position I held before the official announcement that recognised me for the position .
Hitherto , the chairman said ” As a member of the Board of Trustees (BOT) of the ADC, I represented Sokoto
State at the party’s emergency mini-convention in Zaria on 22nd September,
where crucial decisions about the party’s national leadership were taken.
” At that convention, the leadership of Chief Ralph Nwosu was confirmed and
validated by the electoral commission and the court. The same convention
granted him a one-year caretaker mandate, which he subsequently handed
over to the current Interim National Chairman, Senator David Mark.
” We hereby restate that Alhaji Bello Isiyaku is only a former gubernatorial
candidate of the party and holds no leadership position within the ADC in
Sokoto State. If he does not cease these unauthorized actions, he will face legal
consequences”, Faruk vowed in the statement.
Meanwhile, Faruk urged members of the party to remain united and resolute by upholding the values of discipline, respect, and development-oriented leadership, noting that the party ‘s constitution abhors the use party’s name for insults, defamation, or irresponsible
commentary.
” The African Democratic Congress is a party founded on dignity, respect, and
service to humanity”, he reminded members while printing out that ADC remains committed to ensuring that citizens benefit from the dividends of democracy, especially in the areas of security, infrastructure, education, economic growth, welfare, and healthcare.
