As the 2019 date for the general elections draws closer, the All Progresives Congress(APC) in Sokoto state is poised to tackle emerging disunity and crack in the party with a stern warning to some of its aggrieved House of Assembly members.
The state chapter of the ruling party on Wednesday vehemently warned them to desist forthwith from generating unguarded utterances against Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.
The state Chairman of the APC, Alhaji Usman Danmadamin Isa, spoke against the backdrop of statements made by some legislators in the Assembly that Tambuwal did not execute any project in their constituencies.
While addressing hundreds of supporters from, Gudu, Binji and Dangeshuni local government areas, who were at the party headquarters to lodge complaints against the actions of their legislators, Isa described the actions of the lawmakers as unfortunate.
He maintained that Tambuwal has carried all along in terms of executing development projects, contrary to insinuations by some of the aggrieved lawmakers.
The party chairman, however, warned them to desist forthwith from making unguarded statements against Tambuwal or face the wrath of the law.
He further expressed the commitment of the party towards ensuring even development across the state, urging party leaders at all levels to mobilise their supporters so as to obtain voters’ card.
While streasing the need for the party faithfuls in the state to obtain their voters card, Isa said” your support to the APC would amount to nothing, if you fail to obtain the voters’ card that will enable you participate in election.”
He called on party supporters in the state to sustain the tempo of support to Governor Tambuwal, in order to move the state to greater heights.
In a brief remark, the state Commissioner of Health, Dr. Balarabe Kakale, said the people of Dange/Shuni Council were solidly behind Governor Aminu Tambuwal.
This, he said was in view of the myriad of projects executed in the area.
Similarly, the Special Adviser to the Governor on State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency , Dr. Mohammed Ali Inname who categorically dissociated himself from the actions of the lawmaker representing Binji constituency in the state Assembly, vowed that the people of Binji council were ready to recall the lawmaker representing the constituency for incompetence.
Nine aggrieved members of the state house of assembly had last week, attempted to impeach the Speaker of the Assembly, Alhaji Salihu Maidaji, accusing him of corrupt practices and being a stooge of Governor Tambuwal.
