Sokoto APC reaps 3,477 defectors from PDP , says party on track for victory

The wave of defection has continued in Sokoto seat of the caliphate weekend as the All Progressives Congress swells with 3, 477 PDP members who quitted the party in Dundaye, Gumburawa and Gidan Bubu Districts of Wamakko local government.

It is observed that latest defectors to the party is highest in recent time with largely former PDP leaders and youths of voting age.

They were received by the state APC Chairman, Hon.Isah Sadiq Achida who described them as pillars of democracy in the area as he urged them to feel free and work for the success of the party in the forthcoming elections in the state.

Among prominent PDP stalwarts that defected were Alhaji Labaran Gidan Ruwa, Hajiya Balkisu Ibrahim Dundaye and Malami Mai Sojoji who attributed their defection to Governor Tambuwal’s PDP led government failure to deliver its promises to them.

” PDP is a complete and absolute failure “

In his brief remarks, the Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi said that, APC administration under the watch of President Muhammadu Buhari has brought positive developmental projects aimed at impacting the lives of people of the country.

According to Dingyadi , the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari had improved in the area of agriculture revolution and economic enhancement, among many other sectors of development.

The Minister added that the APC-led federal government had in the past seven and half years, rolled out many projects which impacted positively to the lives of the less privileged citizens in the country.

He called for more support to the government in order to provide more dividends of democracy, assuring the defectors of the party’s commitment towards its victory during the polls.

He said that those achievements recorded by the government at the center were some of the reasons why other members of other political parties were trooping into the APC across the board.

Acknowledging the resilient efforts and contributions of the organisers of the successful event, the state APC leader , Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko noted with excitement the sprawling popularity and support the party was gaining with attendant acceptance from across all classes of Sokoto people from all nook and crannies.

” We are indeed on track with the wave of defections into our house of hope, the APC in Sokoto state. Your support is adding value to our political journey of victory”, he observed. thanked the organizers of the event for their routine contributions towards the progress of the party.

Also, the APC gubernatorial candidate in the state, Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto said the PDP government in the state under governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has failed woefully to provide the required and adequate utility and infrastructural needs of Sokoto people as water, electricity, roads and healthcare services to make life meaningful to citizens.

Accordingly, Aliyu Sokoto solicited the support of the electorates to vote for him as the Governor of Sokoto state in order to bring back the lost glory of the state.

Other speakers at the occasion were: Member representing Kware/Wamakko Federal Constituency, Hon. Ahmad Abdullahi Kalambaina, APC Chairman of Wamakko Local Government, Alh. Bello Jiji Bado and APC Coordinator in the area, Alhaji Sani Dalla-Dalla.

Meanwhile, awards of Excellence for outstanding service to humanity were presented to Senator Wamakko and Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto by the three Districts that organized the event attended by APC Deputy gubernatorial candidate, Hon. Idris Muhammad Gobir, Alhaji Sahabi Bojo Bodinga, former Commissioners, retired Permanent Secretaries, business moguls, politicians and Islamic scholars, among many others.
