Sokoto pays N422m on students’ tuition

Tuition fees of students of Sokoto state origin studying in national and international institutions ‎totalling N422,165,219.50 has been released by the state government.

A statement issued by the Ministry of Higher Institution revealed that of the amount, the sum of N118,135,000 was paid to the Abuja-based Baze University while various institutions in the Republic of Sudan received N256,967,250 for the 2015/2016 academic session.
‎Relatedly, those studying in Uganda received N47,062,969.50 as tuition and upkeep money.
Signed by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Ministry, Nura Maikwanci, the statement called on the students to justify the money being spent on them.
