SOKOTO state Peoples Democratic Party campaign rally was yesterday rounded up amidst tumultuous crowd at the famous Giginya township stadium venue of the event ahead of Saturday polls with call on electorates to turn out enmass and cast their votes for Atiku Abubakar, Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and other party candidates.
Similarly, the opposition All Progressives Congress which held its grand finale Thursday evening with he receiption of over 100,000 PDP defectors into its fold, noted that the power of the wind of broom revolution cannot be stopped in Sokoto state and Nigeria.
In the same vein, its governorship candidate, Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto reassured that if voted into power, his government would approach its agenda of transformation on the path of the party’s change mantra for the NEXT LEVEL.
” All components of economic development will be stimulated and revived to add value o he common man’s survival hope.”
Speaking , former governor Attahiru Bafarawa said the current political journey embarked by PDP in the state was aimed at strengthening the bond of relationship and unity among Sokoto people.
According to Bafarawa” it is beyond the politics of hatred and attacks but politics of development and fulfilment of purpose.
” I wish to say that PDP is resolute to bringing the required kind of leadership under Tambuwal.
” He needs our votes so that together we can advance the course of the state by meeting the yearnings and aspirations of our people”, he stressed.
Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal who dwelled his message on the need for Sokoto people to see reasons with PDP and cast their votes for its candidates noted that Atiku Abubakar is competent and ready to provide the needed people oriented democracy where the rule of law would thrive.
According to Tambuwal , in the last three years, nothing to show on federal government projects in Sokoto state, adding that” you are all witnesses that we have not benefitted from the enormous projects of the federal government under Buhari leadership.”
He said ” quite a number of our youths are unemployed and the N 5000 given to Nigerians cannot solve their problems. The economy has to be stimulated through practical ways that will create and sustain Nigerians demands and their livelihood.”
The gubernatorial candidate who is seeking reelection said if given the mandate, he would religiously evolve and purse a vibrant education policy that will create window of opportunities for quality education in he state.
” I will also ensure that every sector of the economy is given adequate and responsive touch before the end of 4 years”, he assured.
Tambuwal further urged electorates to conduct themselves and vote wisely for PFP without violence or any act against the electoral rules and guidelines while thanking supporters and followers of the party.
