Taraba Police Command Parades Criminal Gangs Terrorizing The State

The Taraba State police command has arrested groups of criminal gangs across the state who has been terrorizing the state in carrying out criminal activities such as armed robbery, kidnapping, killings among others.
In a press statement sent to Procyon News signed by the state Police Public Relations Officers (PPRO), ASP David Misal, he noted that the command under the leadership of David Akinremi, especially during this yuletide period that the command is committed to safeguard lives and properties.
 
The statement read: “The Taraba State police command under the leadership of the present commissioner of Police CP David A. Akinremi, has shown more commitment in crime fighting strategies in Taraba State, particularly during the yuletide period to guarantee public safety.
 
“This renewed commitment has brought about the achievements recorded by the operatives of the command attached to Bali Division, on the 25/12/2017 stormed criminals hideout in sansani Yobe feeder road, subsequently arrested a group for armed bandits who is believed to be responsible of armed robbery and other heinous crimes, occasionally perpetrated in that axis. Those arrested includes; Rabiu Haruna (45) Sulieman Sani (25), Jamilu Shaibu (23), Nazifi (30), Badamis Isah (25) and Abubakar Umaru (50) years respectively. Also items recovered from them are; one locally made single AK47 rifle, one locally made single barrel rifle, one locally made revolver rifle, one locally made pistol, six pellets, three (3) handsets and charms.
 
“The command on the 10/12/2017 received a report from Dakka in Bali Local Government area of the state indicated that one Kanpti Yaro, 25Years, a palm wine tapper while in the bush was confronted by unidentified man who brought out a gun and shoot at him with no cause.
In an effort to uncover the perpetrator of such dastardly act, detectives of attached to Bali Division stormed the village, embarked on intensive surveillance and man hunt operation which led to arrest of the principal suspect and seven other persons in connection to crime. In the process a single barrel gun, three quiver containing arrows and two cutlasses were recovered. They also confessed of their involvement in the commission of the crime and the command will soon charge them to court.
 
“Also, on the 15/12/2017 operatives of anti-kidnapping squad of the command busted a kidnapping gang who specializes  in kidnapping/ armed robbery, along Gassol Mutum-biyu axis, consequently upon a recorded report that on the said date, one Yusuf Danjuma of Baba ya’u ward Jalingo received an anonymous call demanding that he dropped a sum of two million (#2000,000,00) in a certain location and failure to comply he will be kidnapped and subsequently killed. Reacting on the report the commissioner of Police, CP David A Akinremi, mandated the anit-kidnapping squad to fish out the perpetrator of the act. In response to this marching order the team with aid of technology arrested one Danjuma Umar. His arrest led to the arrest of two other collaborators of the gang namely Babawo Yahaya and Ayatullahi Haruna. Both have confessed to be responsible for the crime along side one Muhammed Gongola of Mutum-biyu at large and the case is under going investigation.
 
“To further reveal the command’s commitment in tackling criminal activities across the state, on 20/12/2017 operatives of the command attached to Takum Division arrested one Masa’adu Muhammed and Jamilu Sadauki. The duo conspired and demanded through a text messages, that one Ferdinand Demion Ifesimachi should drop the sum two million (#2000,000,00) at a location or else he will be kidnapped. Operatives of the command reacted to this through actionable surveillance and pick up the suspects before they actualize their threats, investigation is in progress. 
 
“Consequently, on the 4/12/2017 patrol team attached to Special Anti-robbery Squad (SARS) while on a routine patrol along Jalingo Wukari road accosted a Volkswagen Sharon vehicle driven by one Muhammed Umar with nine occupants during a search, three locally made single barrel guns were recovered in vehicle. Investigation is progress with a view to get the source of his supplier and the purpose of going about with such dangerous weapons. The suspect will subsequently charge upon the completion of the investigation.
 
“Based on the determination of the command to leave no stone unturned in sweeping out all criminal activities in the state, a gang stars members responsible for the attack of Mr. Sylvester Vishima, a Sun Newspapers correspondent were arrested. The incidence took place 28/12/2017 a report was received at about 2245hrs from a lady by the name Beatrice Lotim of FGGC road Jalingo, indicated that while on their way home from Flickers club at a point at FGGC first gate a tricycle emerged and unidentified person came out leaving other three in the tricycle and brought out a knife and stabbed him at the back and his left lips, he sustained serious degree of injury. Patrol attached to Jalingo Division was dispatched immediately to respond to the distress call but while on their way another distress call was received of a similar at Exclusive club were two persons namely Linda Habila and Aliyu Yusuf were attacked and they also sustained cuts on their hands. The response team successfully rescued the victims and arrested the two suspects in connection with the two incidents. Investigation is on going to in order bring all the perpetrators to book and they will be charged to upon the completion.
 
“However, on 13/12/2017 the command napped a member of the notorious Ghana criminal gang by the name Terkinbi Daniel (aka Mopol) as part of it’s effort to dislodge criminal gang led by “Ghana” from Taraba state, and rid kidnapping activities and other heinous crimes by this dreaded group. The suspect previously appeared in Benue State and indicated interest to lay down his weapons in order to key into the state amnesty program but he later went back to his criminal activities and relocated to Taraba State in order to conceal his presence to avoid being arrested until he was fished out by the operatives of the command. He as well admitted to be a member of Ghana gang as well as his involvement in several kidnapping and armed robberies in both Taraba and Benue States. Efforts are on-going to apprehend other members of the gang”.
