The Edo State Government, as part of activities to mark the 2022 International Youth Day is set to organise a Boot Camp: The Edo Youth Colloquium for youths in the state.
Mr Chris Osa Nehikhare, the state Commissioner for Youths and Humanitarian Affairs, disclosed this at an interactive session with newsmen on Wednesday on activities lined up to commemorate the day.
Nehikhare explained that The Edo Youth Colloquium is a programme organized by Edo State Ministry of Youth and Humanitarian Affairs to drive and instil key universal values in young people. The programme which also seeks to realign the thoughts of young people while strengthening their resolve to make significant impact in the society would focus on key areas such as;
Arts and the Creative Industry
Realigning political vision
Security and more.
The event which is scheduled to hold from the 18th to 21st of August 2022, in a serene camp site would also provide mentorship and coaching session for young people with interest in Agriculture, Information Technology, arts, leadership, employability and more.
He also disclosed that application and registration for participation opens on Thursday August 11, 2022 and would close on Monday, August 15, 2022.
The commissioner who reteirated the Edo State Government commitment to youth development, said that the Gov. Godwin Obaseki led administration in the state would sustain efforts at providing opportunities for youths in the state to reach their full potential.
