Transparent Leadership : Namdas Hands Over Online Publishers’ Award to Dogara

The Chairman, House Committee on Media, Hon. Abdulrazak Namdas has formally presented to the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, House of Representatives the Arewa Online Publishers award Purposeful and Transparent Leadership of the 8th Assembly.

The National Chairman of the Arewa Online Publishers Forum, Mordecai Sunday Ibrahim had in his address during the presentation of the award last week commended the Senate President and the Speaker who in spite of distractions, subtle harassment and intimidation for their loyalty and commitment to make the National Assembly a true representative of the Nigerian people.

The statement reads in part, “It will be recalled that the Senate President and the Speaker at various times suffered serious distractions, subtle harassment and intimidation for their loyalty and commitment to make the National Assembly a true parliament, representing the Nigerian people. Their unwavering loyalty and commitment to the Federal Republic of Nigeria provided decisive, purposeful and effective leadership that inspired most senators and members to equally put in their best through quality and patriotic contributions at Plenary and Committee levels that culminated into landmark legislations.

”The Arewa Online Publishers also commended the leadership of the 8th National Assembly for resisting sustained blackmail, intimidation and temptation by the executive to become its rubber stamp.

Mordecai Ibrahim said, “The 8th National Assembly distinguished themselves and served truly as the people’s Parliament. Nigerians are living witnesses and are proud of majority of the members of the 8th National Assembly for resisting sustained blackmail, intimidation and temptation by the executive to become its rubber stamp.”
