The member representing Chikun/Kajuru at the House of Representative, Hon. Yakubu Umar Barde, has condoled with the people of Kajuru over the recent senseless killings in the community.
This was contained in a press release signed by him in Kaduna on Wednesday 27 February, 2019.
Barde, while commending the electorates for their peaceful conduct during last Saturdays election where they returned him said he was however saddens that the victory celebration was cut short by enemies of the people who went on a killing spree on Monday night to Tuesday morning.
While praying for the repose of the souls of the departed he however condemned the perpetrators of the dastardly act and prayed that God will grant relations and friends of those affected the fortitude to bear the loss.

PRESS RELEASE
I wish to appreciate all of my constituents, the good people of Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency of Kaduna state for their support and peaceful conduct in the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly Elections in which I was re-elected and returned for the 5th time as Member Representing Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
The victory is not mine alone but a collective victory to the good people of Chikun/Kajuru and it was made possible by the grace of God through your support and commitment over the years.
I say unto those with whom we contested that we are all winners. We are all loved by our people but only one person emerges at a time. Though our people expressed their desire through individual choices they made, we should reciprocate and show them equal love by resolving to join hands together and work for peace, development and progress that will ultimately be beneficial to all.
Sadly, the sweet victory we savour comes with a bitter taste with it when we think about the senseless killings and abductions going on in parts of Kajuru and Chikun. I wish to use this opportunity to call on government to march words with action in order to get to the root of the problem in Kajuru and Chikun axis as well as other parts of the state and to do the needful so that people can be inspired and have confidence in governments ability to protect their lives and property.
I condole with the families of those that lost their relations and friends. We pray for the repose of the souls of the dead while we pray for speedy recovery and healing for those injured or maimed.
My brothers and sisters, it is time to put Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency on an even higher pedestal in our dear state and push not only our state higher but indeed Nigeria.
Finally, on behalf of those who made this victory possible, our esteemed supporters, my party members and the good people of Chikun/Kajuru, please accept my profound gratitude.
