U.S. Congressman Riley M. Moore has held a bilateral meeting with a high-level delegation of senior members of the Nigerian government, led by the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, in Washington, D.C.

Top on the agenda for the discussions were the persistent security challenges in Nigeria, specifically the alleged ongoing persecution of Christians and the continuous terrorist threats across the nation.
Both parties discussed opportunities for strengthened cooperation and coordination between the United States and Nigeria aimed at ending the bloodshed and violence.
During the meeting, the Nigerian officials outlined the government’s challenges and concerns regarding counterterrorism efforts, the need for security assistance, the protection of vulnerable communities, and ongoing issues involving widespread violence across Nigeria.
Congressman Moore reiterated America’s readiness to cooperate with Nigeria. He also emphasized that President Trump will “not tolerate continued violence against Christians or other forms of religious persecution.”
