Wamakko donates N.5m to Vision FM, harps on objective reportage

The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Defence and Deputy Chairman, Senate Committee on Anti Corruption, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda on Sunday tasked Journalists on the need to exhibit professionalism and objectivity in their reportage to reflect the ethics of the noble profession.

Wamakko who donated
N 500,000 to the Vision FM, Radio, Sokoto , as well as the Listeners’ Association of the Radio Station at the 5th anniversary event of its operation in the caliphate , charged Journalists to accord top priority to the sustainable peace , unity and socio-economic prosperity of Nigeria in the course of their reportage.

Wamakko who was represented by Alhaji Ibrahim Adamu Tudun Doki, added” So, we should be mindful of the need to keep the country one and indivisible , as well as always strive to make it greater , and not to jeopardise its progress .”

The former Sokoto state governor who represents Sokoto North Senatorial District also reminded Media practitioners in the nation that ” All of us have no any other country to call our own , but Nigeria .

He further promised to continue to assist and partner media organizations while expressing delight that, he enjoyed a robust relationship with media organs and practitioners , within and outside Nigeria.

The lawmaker extolled the invaluable contributions of Vision FM, Radio, Sokoto, in broadening the broadcasting landscape in the State , as well as Nigeria,in general.

Other donors include; Engr. Mustapha Kofar Marke , N500,000 , APC State Chairman, Alhaji Isa Sadiq Achida, represented by the State Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Sambo Bello Danchadi, donated N 100,000 among many others received at the ceremony which also featured the awards of Excellence and Certificates of Recognition given to some individuals and members of staff who excelled in the discharge of their duties .
