Wamakko facilitates establishment of UBEC special school in Sokoto

TO further drive the course for accessing better and quality education with encouraging enrolment level in the state, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko (APC-Sokoto) has facilitated the construction of an all inclusive school in Sokoto state.

The school otherwise tagged “UBEC Smart School Sokoto” is one among the numerous constituency projects initiated and provided by the Senator and former governor of the state and will be piloted under the UBEC policy drive.

However, conducting reporters around the school facility on Tuesday, Director of Administration to the office of the Senator , Almustapha Abubakar Alkali explained that, the school is situated at the portion of Sultan Abubakar College, (SAC ) on the popular Maituta Road , Sokoto.

Wamakko doubles as Chairman Senate Committee on Defence and member, Senate Committee on Education respectively.

Conducting the press round the school the Director of Administration to the office of the senator Alh. Almustapha Abubakar Alkali explained that, the school is situated at the portion of Sultan Abubakar College, SAC at Maituta Road sokoto.

He explained that the school was last to be contracted for construction but emerged the first to be completed among others across the 36statea of the federation.

” Is a signal and demonstration of Wamakko’s resilience and passion for the development of education”, he pointed out.

Alkali said the edifice has 20 classrooms, offices for nursery, primary and junior secondary sections as well as staff room with adjourning facilities which included reception, 50 toilets facility, provision of portable water, installation of 500KV transformer, Generator House, fence with security fence wire among others.

He disclosed that soon , the school will be commissioned and put to use for the overall development of education in the state.

Other facilities in the school include an E-Library, studio and Robotics laboratory as well research offices had been provided for conducive learning atmosphere in the special school.

Alkali according a release by Bashar Abubakar , Special Assistant New Media to Senator Wamakko, further commended Wamakko ‘s resilience as a leader with children of the poor at heart in the state.

He also urged other elective officials to emulate Wamakko while throwing an open challenge to the Sokoto state government to ensure the provision of quality and knowledgeable teachers who will Man the school towards attaining the desired objective of establishing the school.

Meanwhile, an educationist and former Executive Secretary of the State Arabic and Islamic Education Board, Ahmad Baba Altine commended Wamakko for facilitating the school from the UBEC.

He urged the state government to focus attention in the maintenance of the school.

The UBEC Smart School, Sokoto facility is awaiting to be adequately equipped with instructional materials among other facilities.
