We’ll Continue To Partner Esan Youth Movement For Laudable Projects – Dr. Adesotu; Honourable Commissioner for Science And Technology

The Edo State Commissioner for Science and Technology, Hon Dr. Christopher Adesotu on Thursday 18/4/2019 in Benin City commended Esan Youths Movement (EYM) for its Educational activities in Edo Central.

He made this commendation when Executive members of EYM paid the ministry a working visit on the proposed Edo Central Science and Mathematics Quiz Competition.

Hon. Dr. Christopher I. Adesotu said that the forth coming science and mathematics quiz is a welcome one and its in line with the Edo State Government policy to revamp the learning of mathematics and science courses in our secondary schools. He said the state government was thinking towards that direction. He said that mathematics is the mother of all subjects and it is imperative that we take it serious.

Commissioner Adesotu said Edo State Government have perfected plans to establish mathematics Hub in Benin city, Ekpoma in Edo Central and Auchi in Edo North.

The permanent Secretary of the ministry, Barr. Dare Denian said this is a laudable project and the ministry will invite Mathematics Association into the project to make it have credibility, he also said that the ministry will screen all questions and give all useful advise when necessary.

The president EYM Comrade Kingsley Ohens thanked the ministry for the commendations. He said the purpose of the inter school quiz competition in Esan land is to promote healthy competition among schools thereby stimulating interest in teaching and learning of mathematics and science, English and general knowledge in Edo central and to create a generation that will pursue functional education and secure the future of Esan land. The competition will inspire competitiveness and healthy rivalry among schools and students in academic excellence. He said Esan land by extension Edo state will reap the benefits as the students today are the leaders of tomorrow.

Elder Peter Imasolavia, a leader in Esan Youths Movement and a member of the Board of Trustees thanked the commissioner and all the Board of Directors for their warm reception and said it is a great one that the ministry under the watchful eyes of the commissioner is making great progress and EYM will not let them down.

Commissioner Adesotu said that they will always work with Esan Youths Movement because of its mission and vision.
