The Labour Party in Sokoto state has elected a new set of Executives at consensus state Congress exercise following affirmation by delegates that brought in Comrade Abubakar Yawale as its chairman.
However, before the rancour free, fair and smooth exercise conducted at its state secretariat on Kano road , Sokoto, the state party Leader, Chief Ifeanyi Ezeagu remarked that the party was not disturbed by the current gale of defection to ruling APC stressing that nothing would panic it’s focus.
” This time around, we are more determined and remain resilient in the LP ahead of 2027 general elections.”
He urged members of the party to remain undisturbed and politically stable against all odds towards defeating APC.
Ifeanyi said the party in the state was committed and not ready to allow room for betrayals and double standards to mislead its focus for victory.
According to him, Labour Party was back on track with passion and on course to genuinely sustain its electoral tempo with a view to winning at the 2027 polls inorder to rebuild Nigeria.
Meanwhile, Mr Yemi Odeyeri’s motion for the dissolution of the former excos and seconded also saw the emergence of Hon Nura Abubakar as State Secretary while the position of Treasurer went to Oke A. Jikan Shehu as Misbahu Bashir picked Legal Adviser.
However, Hajiya Aisha Mukhtar and Sirajo Muhammad emerged as Women and Youth Leaders respectively as Hajiya Hannatu Buhari won Deputy Women Leader Sokoto East accordingly with Jamilu Adamu clinching the position of Organising Secretary among others elected.
Speaking , Comrade Yawale who described his emergence as the will of God, said he would not give room for sentiment and bias to truncate nor stagnate the new leadership and party affairs.
He said he was for all members and will take everyone along while noting in appreciation of party delegates and members efforts at displaying democratic ideals with understanding for the smooth and rancour free Congress.
He identified himself as a servant ready to give his best towards building hope among party members who he described remain drivers of the party’s desire for victory.
He urged members of the party in the state to engage in wooing more members into its fold towards boosting the chances of the party come 2027 polls.
