ADP URGES OSINBAJO TO CALL LALONG TO ORDER

By Ehis Agbon

The Action Democratic Party (ADP) Chairman in Plateau State, Chief Amb. Nanyah Andrew Daman (JP) has urged Acting President Yemi Osinbajo to as a matter of urgency call on the Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong to order before he plunged the State back to pandemonium and full blown crisis due to crass impunity, imposition and total disregard for Constitutionalism by selecting management committee in the 17 LGCs of the State instead of conducting LGC elections like civilized Governors and states.

Speaking to a select media operatives in the Plateau State ADP secretariat in Jos, Daman, frowned at the number of illegalities Lalong has enmeshed himself in since assumption of office, to include but not limited to, flagrant abuse of office as a lawyer and a former legislator: the dissolution of elected LGC Chairman, Vice Chairman, Councillors, and their appointees; the intentional and wicked refusal to pay the 98 Bokkos LGC Staff their 26 months salary arrears despite biometric clearance and persistent appeal by elders and stakeholders of the state; refusing and illegally diverting all LGC bail out funds; encouraging nepotism and lopsidedness in appointments and awards of contracts to government officials, friends, in-laws, relatives and and cronies; meddling in the affairs of the Plateau State House of Assembly and the Judiciary by conniving with judicial staff to delay and inpune justice and showing favouritism to one ethnic group in Jos North LGC over and above other indigenous tribes amongst others.

The ADP is calling on the Acting President to intervene in the issues of willful abuse of office by the Governor Lalong administration before it snowballs into major crises that will engulf the whole country because Plateau is the umbilical cord that holds Nigeria together in view of the widespread agitation for restructuring of the nation.

The ADP wants the Governor to quickly sign the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC) Bill into Law and equally conduct the LGC elections now and not the selection of Transition Management Committee or the Federal Ministry of Finance should stop the release of any funds to Plateau State until duly elected council officials are in place. The continues disobedience of the Supreme Court Judgement against appointment of caretaker Chairmen is provocative, illegal and uncivilized.

On the element of surprise the APC Government of Plateau State is employing by refusing to publicize the date for the conduct of the elections, Daman, the ADP Chairman said the APC can give a weeks notice if it wishes, the ADP is fully prepared for the elections and will coast home to victory with nothing less than 10 LGCs and about 120 councillor’s if they agree to conduct the elections.

As a youth driven political party, the ADP believes in internal democracy and good governance that is all inclusive hence the use of option A4 model of primary elections where only the most popular candidate wins and not the rigging the APC is known for, hinted Chief Daman. The ADP believes in party supremacy, and party discipline.
