FOLLOWING its fulfilment of the extant requirements for the establishment of a private university, the Aliyu Magatakarda Foundation is set to float a premier pioneer private university in Sokoto, Northwest Nigeria.
The proposed University according to a statement Sunday by Bashir Rabe Mani, Special Assistant Media and Publicity to Senator Wamakko is expected to take off as soon as the NUC gives the final nod.
The statement said already, relevant documents had been submitted to the National Universities Commission (NUC) by the Leader of the Foundation and Senator representing Sokoto North Senatorial District, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko.
However, the Executive Secretary of the Commission , Professor Abubakar Rasheed received the documents witnessed by the NUC management staff at an epoch making ceremony in Abuja.
The documents included among others, evidence of payment of the Processing Fees, Academic Briefs, Master Plan, Environmental Impact Assessment, Subsoil Investigations Report and the Draft University Law.
Those in company of Senator Wamakko to the Commission were the Foundation’s Secretary/Legal Adviser (Planning & Implementation Committee), Barrister Bello Mohammed Goronyo and an Adviser, Malam Nasir Isa Wasagu.
