The students were part of a mass abduction that occurred on November 21, 2025, when bandits, arriving on motorbikes, stormed the remote community’s school dormitories around 2:00 a.m. and operated for approximately three hours.

The initial attack resulted in the abduction of 315 people—comprising 303 students and 12 teachers.

In the immediate aftermath of the raid, 50 pupils escaped and were reunited with their families.

Following this recent release of 100 children, a significant number of abductees remain in captivity.

Security forces and community hunters have been deployed to comb nearby forests in an effort to secure the safe return of the remaining individuals, who include over 100 children and all 12 teachers.
