The Nigerian film industry has been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of veteran actor and entrepreneur Solomon Akiyesi.

The news was confirmed on Monday by Abubakar Yakubu, the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN).
According to the AGN President, Akiyesi passed away in his sleep on Sunday. His remains have since been moved to a mortuary in Abuja.
While the industry and fans grapple with the shock of his departure, Yakubu noted that the guild is maintaining close contact with the family to ascertain further details regarding his passing.
Tributes from colleagues and admirers have begun flooding social media as the public reacts to the loss of the prominent screen figure.
