The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Kaduna State Chapter has distanced itself from a purported State Working Committee meeting held on March 2, 2026, alleging that the meeting was called by individuals without legal standing within the party structure.

The party’s State Chairman, Alh. Ahmed Tijjani Mustapha clarified this at a press conference, stating that the meeting and its resolutions are illegal, null, and void because they violate a pending court order.
Mustapha emphasized that he is the legally elected and recognized State Chairman, confirmed by the National Leadership and INEC, and that Mr. Patrick D’Ambut, who allegedly called the meeting, has been restrained by the court from portraying himself as the ADC State Chairman.
The party also denied the existence of an “ADC Coalition” as referenced in some circles, stating that it is not recognized in the party’s constitution and that the only recognized structure is the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Mustapha further clarified that Sen. Lawal Adamu (Mr. La) is not a registered party member and that his actions are seen as those of an interloper and imposter.
Regarding the Membership, Mobilization, Revalidation, and Registration (MMRR) Committee, Mustapha said the state chapter has not officially received the committee and has requested its dissolution due to its unbalanced composition and lack of inclusivity.
The party has written to the National Chairman, expressing concerns and calling for the inclusion of all stakeholders in the committee.
Mustapha urged party leaders at the ward and local government levels to mobilize members to register via the e-registration link provided by the National Secretariat.
He praised the National Leadership for their efforts to use technology to facilitate the registration of new members.
The party’s official office remains at its location on Katsina Road, Kaduna, as directed by the court, and any attempt to take control of the office will be legally resisted.
Mustapha informed law enforcement agencies of the situation and assured party members that no date has been set for relocating to the office.
The party will inform members only after the Kaduna State High Court issues a decision.
