The spokesman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, presidential campaign council, Buba Galadima, has accused President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration of silencing the judiciary.
Galadima, who appeared on national television, said there are some reported cases of those he described as friends of president Buhari’s government who are trying to manipulate cases before the court.
While stressing that the President Buhari-led government is intimidating the judiciary, Galadima added that a situation whereby the President has absolute control over the nation’s legislative and judicial arm of government portrays a dangerous signal for democracy.
Speaking on the arrest of Abubakar Atiku’son-law, Abdullahi Babalele, Galadima said that it was a case of witch-hunting, which does not speak well of the government.
When asked for the way forward, the PDP spokesman said he wants a separation of power among the three tiers of government.
He believes that a situation whereby the President has absolute control over the nation’s legislative and judicial arm of government portrays a dangerous signal for democracy.
