Edo State House Of Assembly Clears 3 Commissioner-Nominees

Edo State House Of Assembly has cleared additional three(3) Commissioner nominees sent to it by Governor Godwin Obaseki.

The confirmed Commissioners include:

i Mr John Osagie Inegbedion
ii Mr Joseph Eboigbe Osazemwinde
iii Mr Akinola Agbaje.

The nominee’s clearance came after Honorable members who having gone through their Curriculum Vitae(CV), took oral briefing from them at plenary, quarried their preparedness and ways they hope to serve the State.

Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Frank Okiye who through unanimous voice vote of members pronounced the nominees confirmed, advised them not to betray the confidence reposed in them.

Other Honourable Members including Hon.Roland Asoro,Hon. Henry Okhuarobo,Hon.Marcus Onobun, Hon Ephraim Aluebhosele,Hon.Emma Agbaje,Hon. Emma Okoduwa and Hon. Sunny Ojezele, in their remarks during the screening exercise commended the choice of the Governor Godwin Obaseki, describing the nominees as square pegs in square holes.

They said all the nominees possessed what they described as intimidating credentials and have served in various capacities at various times in the government of the state, where they distinguished themselves.

Briefing the House, in their separate meeting with the Honourable members at the plenary, the nominees gave their educational qualifications as well as professional qualifications,stressing that with their additional experience they are fully prepared to serve in whatever portfolio’s they are assigned.

Also today,the House received a petition from one Mrs, Dupe Ebipoja who appealed to the House to intervene in her alleged demotion from Assistant Chief Administration officer Grade level 13 to Senior Administration Officer Grade level 10 by the Local Government Commission with a view to reinstating her to her former position in Orhionwon Local Government Area.

Hon. Okiye referred the petition to the House Standing committee on public petitions and to report back to the House in two(2) weeks.
